DocDekhlo is a personal document manager built so you stay in control of your documents. This policy explains, in plain language, what we do and do not collect.
1. We do not collect your documents
DocDekhlo does not upload, copy, scan, mirror, or otherwise transmit your document files or any data extracted from them to any server owned or operated by us. We have no infrastructure that stores user documents.
2. Where your documents are stored
Your documents are stored in exactly two places, both controlled by you:
- On your device — inside the app's private storage (managed by Android / iOS). Uninstalling the app removes this copy.
-
In your own Google Drive (only if you sign in with
Google and grant Drive access) — DocDekhlo creates a folder named
DocDekhlo/in your Drive and writes copies there as backup. The files belong to you, sit in your Drive quota, and can be deleted by you at any time from drive.google.com.
We never receive a copy of these files. There is no DocDekhlo backend that holds them.
3. Authentication (Firebase Auth)
To let you sign in and keep your data separate from other users, DocDekhlo uses Firebase Authentication, a service provided by Google. The only personal data handled by sign-in is:
- Your email address (if you sign in with Google), or
- Your phone number (if you sign in with phone OTP).
This data is stored by Google as part of Firebase Auth — not by us. We use it solely to identify your account inside the app. We do not store passwords; sign-in is handled entirely by Google.
4. No third-party data sharing
We do not share, sell, rent, or trade your personal data with any third party. We do not run analytics SDKs or advertising SDKs that profile you. The only third party involved in normal use is Google (Firebase Auth for sign-in, and Google Drive for the optional backup you explicitly enable).
5. Notifications
DocDekhlo schedules local reminders on your device for document expiry dates. These reminders are generated and shown locally — they do not travel through any DocDekhlo server, and they are not visible to us.
6. Permissions we ask for
- Camera — to capture a document photo.
- Storage / Photos — to import an existing image or PDF.
- Notifications — to remind you before a document expires.
- Google Drive (optional) — only if you sign in with Google and allow backup.
Each permission is used only for the purpose described above.
7. Deleting your data
You can delete any document from inside the app — local copy, Drive
copy, or both. Uninstalling the app removes the on-device copy.
Drive copies remain in your Drive until you remove them (from inside
the app or directly at drive.google.com). Setting an app PIN and
entering the wrong PIN 10 times will wipe all DocDekhlo data —
device storage and the DocDekhlo/ Drive folder — and
sign you out.
8. Children's privacy
DocDekhlo is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
9. Changes to this policy
If we update this policy, the "Last updated" date at the top will change. Material changes will also be surfaced inside the app.
